Beach Lifeguards Induction Training
Donegal County Council summer Beach Lifeguards during induction training recently. Lifeguards play a key role in ensuring a safe environment for swimmers at pools and public beaches. Lifeguards are not only excellent swimmers, they are also trained in emergency rescue procedures, including CPR. When a swimmer is fatigued, cramping, injured or at risk for other reasons, a lifeguard dives into the water with a buoy and helps return the swimmer to safety. If a swimmer has been underwater and is unconscious, the lifeguard usually provides on-site emergency response while waiting for paramedics to arrive.
